All students from Year 2 to 6 are able to join the chess club. Chess is offered before or after school as a user pays program. It is ably lead by Miro Nowak, a chess master and is supervised by a teacher. There are classes for beginners and advanced players. Players are given the opportunity to participate in chess competitions. An annual school tournament is held in Term 4.
Keyboard lessons are held at lunch time one day per week and are available to all students, beginners through to advanced. An external provider conducts the lessons which are paid for by parents. Students are expected to practise at home.
Students are able to learn French and Spanish before or after school. Languages are taught through games and play and are provided by Le Club Francais, an organisation which has been teaching languages for fifteen years. The club is about having fun and the emphasis is on drama, songs, games and craft activities. Please contact Julia Higgs on 0405 441 775 or julia.higgs@lcfclubs.com.au for further information.
